Underfoot, we appreciated the softer rubber compound in the Vibram Megagrip outsole. A GORE-TEX bootie lines the entire boot and keeps the foot dry in puddles up to 4 inches deep. Vasque even put a D-ring over the toes to clip a gaiter for truly deep drifts. The boot feels secure and incredibly stable, which we appreciate on shifting soft surfaces like deep winter snow. Laces glide through the leather loops over the toes and tighten around the ankles with alloy speed hooks that snugly close the upper boot around the ankles. The gusseted tongue folds high over the ankles and prevents snow from siphoning in while protecting the shins from bashing through the crust. The Nubuck and synthetic upper is wrapped with a rubber rand, keeping the weight down, the boot stiff, and the protection and support high. And it should have great traction and pay attention to details, like places to hook a gaiter and functional speed hooks.īuilt to winter specs without being overbuilt, Vasque’s Breeze WT GTX ($200) surpasses our winter hiker expectations. If You know your chalk types and tried many different types then you will love this chalk! Only bummer is that it is Expensive but its just the Import price added from USA. However! They haven't tried a variety off different chalk brands, so they didn't understand the texture, feel and performance of the chalk. my friends who borrowed some of my chalk couldn't tell if it does keep your hand dryer then the conventional Metolias and DMM. Some of my friends and other reviewers say other wise. Using other chalks for example Metolias, DMM, Chalk Ball and Rock Technology i constantly chalk up every so often.
